SURRENDER IS AN

ADVENTURE?

Is something is missing in your walk with God? After all, you are a follower of Jesus. You pray, you study the Bible, you attend church. You even tithe and serve at church functions. Yet, where is that elusive joy and peace? Where is that needed patience that seems to run so low when you are with that certain person? Why does just one potato chip lead to so many others? In other words, where are the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) in my life?

In this book, Marilyn recounts her experience with those same troubling questions. In her crying out to God for relief over many years, God revealed a very clear answer.  Simply put, He said “Surrender is what makes the fruit of the Spirit ripen.” The Spirit provides His gifts in our lives as overflow with respect to the depth of our relationship with Jesus. Our job is to surrender the stuff in our lives that would hinder that relationship. Very specific things. One for each fruit. Along with Marilyn, you can discover the adventure of surrendering those things that hinder ripe fruit.
